Baby Sistah's Old Fashion Pound Cake

Tastes great as a "sweet bread" with fried chicken and potato salad.

Ingredients:

1 pound butter

3 cups sugar

3 cups sifted flour

1/2 teaspoon salt

5 scoops GNC Soy Protein Unflavored

1 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 teaspoon lemon extract

8 eggs at room temperature

 
Instructions:

1.  Beat butter and sugar at low speed until fluffy. 

2.  Combine flour and salt and add to butter mixture.  Add eggs one at a time, blending well between each egg.  Add vanilla and lemon extracts.

3.  Grease and flour tube pan.  Add batter and tap pan on a hard surface several times to remove air pockets.  Bake at 300-325°F for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted into the middle comes out clean.

4.  Let cool.  Turn onto a plate to remove from pan, then turn onto serving plate so that the crusty side is on top.
