| Ingredients: |
1 package
Gimme
Lean! Sausage
2 tablespoons butter or margarine
1/4 cup onion, minced
1/4 cup celery, finely chopped
1 cup water
1 boullion cube
3 cups plain breadcrumbs
1 teaspoon poultry seasoning
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1 cup applesauce or 2 large apples, thinly
sliced |

| Instructions: |
- Melt butter or margarine on low heat
and add onions and celery. Cook until
soft.
- Crumble Gimme Lean! Sausage into
the pan to brown; chopping into fine pieces
with spatula as it cooks.
- When it is brown add water, boullion,
bread crumbs and seasoning.
- Remove from heat and mix well, adding
the applesauce. (If using sliced apples
add water, bouillon and apples. Let sit
until apples are soft before adding the
breadcrumbs and seasoning.)
- Lightly oil loaf pan and add sausage
stuffing. Bake in 400°F oven for 25
minutes
Variation: Stuffed Acorn Squash.
Halve 2 Acorn squashes, removing seeds and
membranes. Fill with stuffing mixture. In
a 13 x 9 x 3 pan put 1/2 inch of water and
the stuffed squash. Cover tightly with aluminum
foil and bake at 400°F for 45 to 55
minutes.
