Chocolate Chip Brownies

These chocolate chip studded brownies will satisfy your 'chocolate tooth' over and over.

Ingredients:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/4 cup GNC Natural Brand™ Soy Baking Mix
1 cup sugar
3 oz. unsweetened baking chocolate
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/3 cup applesauce
1/3 cup buttermilk
4 egg whites
2 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 cup mini chocolate chips
1/3 cup chopped walnuts
 
Instructions:
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spray an 8x8" baking pan with non-stick vegetable spray. In a small microwaveable bowl, melt chocolate according to package directions.
  2. In large bowl, mix all-purpose flour, soy baking mix, sugar and baking powder.
  3. In medium bowl, beat egg whites until foamy; add applesauce, buttermilk, vanilla, and melted chocolate.
  4. Add buttermilk mixture to flour mixture; mix until blended. Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts. Spread in prepared baking pan. Bake 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean. Cool in pan.
